Consumer Reporting
- Reporting suspected side effects improves medicine safety
- Buying a medicine without a prescription doesn’t mean you won’t have a side effect
- Taking a medicine and feeling unwell? It might be a side effect – tell your doctor and report it
Reporting Adverse Events with the use of medicines increases the quantity and quality of suspected Adverse Drug Reaction reports for detection of problems.
- Speak to your healthcare professional
- Check the consumer medicine information with your medicine, it lists known side effects and advises what to do
- Use the Consumer Reporting Portal to report suspected side effects
- You can benefit by reporting but it also benefits others
New Zealand consumers and patients have been active over many years in identifying safety concerns to the Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring (CARM). We now have a new Consumer Reporting portal to report events to CARM.
